New Bridgewater Bridge Project

Assessment Criteria finalised for New Bridgewater Bridge Major Project - May 2021

In consultation with a range of stakeholders and regulators, the independent Development Assessment Panel, appointed by the Tasmanian Planning Commission, has finalised a set of assessment criteria for the New Bridgewater Bridge major project.

The assessment criteria set out the matters to be addressed in the Major Project Impact Statement for the Project and include relevant land use planning matters and matters required by participating regulators.

An initial set of draft assessment criteria were developed by the Panel and publicly exhibited for 14 days in April, allowing members of the public to make representations.

The final assessment criteria were issued to the New Bridgewater Bridge project team on 27 May 2021.

The project team will now prepare a Major Project Impact Statement to support the assessment of a permit.
