Supporting Tasmanian industry

Because of the size and scale of the project, no Tasmanian construction companies were eligible to submit proposals to deliver the project.

There are still many opportunities for local businesses and suppliers to be part of the project. This will help to bring local knowledge and expertise.

The contractor has developed a Tasmanian Industry Participation Plan (TIPP) as part of their tender submissions and this plan will be implemented during the construction phase.

This will mean that interstate companies that have experience in delivering major infrastructure projects can share their extensive knowledge with Tasmanian companies.
